Papers of Samuel Woodworth, 1829-1945 (bulk 1829-1838).

The collection contains an invitation to dinner and two letters describing Woodworth's family life, his poor health, charity benefits on his behalf, and his opinions on politics, death and religion. A letter from scholar Nelson Adkins to collector Frank Pleadwell discusses one of the above letters. A lithograph of Woodworth completes the collection.
